When in Mexico I managed to get away to visit some local sites, the Azulik Uh May Museum and the nearby cenote, Cedrin Fenomeno.
Azulik Uh May
Azulik consists of 2 separate locations. One is in the township of Tulum and the other is Azulik Uh May. There you’ll find a restaurant, museum, private and artist residences.
Entry was $20 USD.
As the pictures hopefully convey, this place is magical. It was entirely non-linear, beautiful curves, impossible shapes. The hardest part is trying to figure out how it was built. An extraordinary amount of work has gone into it.
AZULIK Uh May is a holistic center and city of arts. With a museum, private and artist’s residencies, and a restaurant, this space aims to provide a framework for the world’s finest minds to come together and propel human evolution.

How to Get to Azulik Uh May
- Coincidentally you’ll find it in the village of Francisco Uh May; 25 km northeast of Tulum
- Proceed on highway 109 to Coba and you’ll pass through the village of Macario Gómez; drive on until you arrive to Francisco Uh May
- Turn left on the street immediately prior to the Police Station
- Continue straight on a rough road until you see a sign that reads AZULIK SFER IK Uh May
- Turn left again. A few meters ahead, you will see the entrance of AZULIK Uh May

Cedrin Fenomeno Cenote
The Cedrin Fenomeno Cenote is one of thousands of cenotes in Mexico. These are sinkholes that are formed when limestone collapses. These underground caverns form underground river networks spanning hundreds of kilometres.
We swam in but you can also dive deeper into the cenotes with diving gear. The water is so incredibly clear and being deep inside a cenote is something else.
How to Get to Cenote Pedrin Fenomeno
The address is 8H9F+M3, 77774 San Pablo, Q.R., Mexico. From the township of Tulum;
- Head east on Calle Polar Pte. toward Calle Alfa Nte
- Turn right onto Géminis Nte
- Turn left at the 1st cross street onto Chetumal-Cancun/México 307
- Make a U-turn
- Turn right Turn right onto Tak Be Ha Rd, it’s 1.6km down this road
